Dulwich Therapy. Counselling & Psychotherapy.
Offering face-to-face, walking & talking, or online counselling sessions.
Offering face-to-face, walking & talking, or online counselling sessions.
My name is Natalie.
I am a counsellor/psychotherapist from London.
My hobbies include live music, travelling (especially around Italy), photography, art, journalling, swimming in the sea, and going on long walks to new places.
I am a wife, a mother and I have experienced mental-health, trauma, and I have overcome lots of challenges which have shaped me into the person I am today.
I have experienced lots of private counselling (not just during my studies, but for personal reasons) and understand the importance of self-care, self-awareness, acceptance of the past, forgiveness and how to move forward to achieve personal growth.
I have had lots of different occupations, but I feel that counselling is my vocation. It took me many years to work out which career path I wanted to follow, and the lightbulb moments I experienced during the private therapy I had in the past made me realise I wanted to make a difference to other people's lives, and that is what I do. Nothing brings me greater joy than noticing positive shifts in others during our sessions together.
I hope to meet a lot more people and look forward to taking you on your journey of personal growth and freedom.
"Counselling is a talking therapy that involves a trained therapist listening to you and helping you find ways to deal with emotional issues." - NHS
Counselling is confidential, non-judgemental, and provides an empathic, positive outlook to help you push through any mental-health / emotional issues you may be experiencing (including depression, anxiety, self esteem/self confidence issues, and many more).
Counselling can also help you to accept yourself, process any trauma you may be living with, and to learn more about yourself, how you became the way you are, and can help you to implement positive changes within yourself to help you to lead a happier, healthier life.
I have a private practice space for face-to-face sessions in East Dulwich, South East London (SE22).
Recently, most of my clients have been opting for sessions in Dulwich Park.
We can Walk & Talk, sit on a bench, sit on the grass with a blanket and soak up the sunshine, bring along your pet dog also if you please.
Walking & Talking sessions can be a great way to daily dose of Vitamin D, have your therapy session, plus get your steps in at the same time. Being in the outdoors can massively benefit your mental well being.
Having sessions outdoors can be an excellent way to reconnect with nature & can also act as a way of retraining your brain when revisiting past trauma, in the same way EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) can.
I also offer online sessions via Zoom, so you don't have to be based in London. We can have sessions wherever you are in the world.
Lots of people find animals therapeutic.
Especially if a person is suffering from anxiety, stroking an animal can put somebody at ease and can help them to relax.
If you opt for my 'face-to-face' sessions, let me know if you would like to have my Beautiful Burmese Cat Margot Valerie-Rose Sargent in your counselling session, and she will be more than happy to help put you at ease (although she might not look happy in the slightest!).
Margot looks forward to meeting you!
